    A Decorated Office

    A decorated office can make all the difference in a functional work space which usually results in a calm, organized and productive employee!  We spend a lot of time talking about decorating our homes but what about the spaces we spend the most of the day at?     Happy Mother’s Day!

    My basement carpet has got to go!

    When we moved into our new house last summer the lower level had this ugly brown carpet.  Honestly speaking, it was the kids area so wasn’t really high on the to-do list.  Then our dog developed a ph problem in her urine.  Long story short, she started using the basement family room as her own personal bathroom.  Once we got her squared away with the right food (she is doing great now) we were left with carpet that had a urine smell and I just couldn’t take it.  So basement carpet redo got torpedoed to the top of the list.   We are breaking this up into three phases:  Phase…

    How to Lay a Tile Floor

    It’s not all that hard to lay a tile floor.  I had never done it before and I don’t own a ton of tools.  As long as you have patience, you can do it too!   Step one, choose your tile.  In my case we already had slate floors in a nearby powder room and half a box of leftover tile.   We measured the length and multiplied it by the width to get the square footage of space in the room.  In this case it was for our laundry room.  Luckily for us the tiles were in 12 in squares so determining how many we would need was pretty…
