Every year my Mom and I attend the Parade of Homes in Central Ohio. It’s definitely my favorite thing to do every year! It’s a fabulous way to see the latest interior design trends for the whole home.
I found lots of unique things this year, from the exteriors to the basements. I took 134 pictures so buckle up!
Just kidding, LOL, I am not going to bog you down with that many pictures. Today I will give you the highlights and probably go more in depth in future posts.

House 1 – The Manor Home
So everyone, meet my MOM! She and I go every year to the Parade and I had to get her picture on this amazing front porch! I love the planters, the stone on the pillars and the front wood doors.
Lot’s of the homes had offices right off the entryway, seems to be a trend this year. I love, love, love this board and batten and in particular, the color they painted it! I did a very similar board and batten in my dining room but painted it white.
This is the mudroom in the Manor Home and I just adore the reclaimed wood!
The reclaimed wood made another appearance on the mantel. Isn’t this stone fireplace amazing! I like the arched detail to it the most. And the decor in the family room is excellent. This home is very rustic and the designer did a great job with it.
The basement bar is obviously very rustic. Personally, I am not a fan of taxidermy but I can see that some people are and it fits really well with the rustic theme of the home. What I do love are these wall sconces and the pipe shelving. Can you see the beer tap on the left? It’s built into the wall, every man’s dream!
Oh, look, another appearance of the reclaimed wood. I do love this look and am working on a reclaimed wall in my own home. What they did so well here was contrasting the wood wall with the fabric headboard. Really compliments each other.
This picture is terrible, sorry about the quality. But I had to include it because it’s a steel tub!!! How cool is that! I also love the tile work, all marble. Nothing says luxury like marble!
This home has nearly 5,000 square feet, 5 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms and 2 half baths with a 3 car garage. It’s on the market for $979,000. And I want to throw in there that my friend Nicole, her cousin was the designer on this home. Great job Nicole’s cousin!!!!
House 2 – Romanelli and Hughes
Is this not the most gorgeous exterior? I love the stone that they painted white and how it contrasts with the dark color. And then the dark wood color, so pretty. One thing I noticed was that the craftsman phase seems to be a little less popular. There still were craftsman homes but there was a lot more variety than in the last few years. looks like the home design exterior trend is changing!
I call this house the marble house. It’s so pretty but I will be honest, it’s a little too formal for me. I am a casual person when it comes to my home, but not everyone is like me so this place will be perfect for someone else. What I do really like about this room is the window treatment is actually a sliding door! Like a barn door only fancy.
See the gorgeous marble on the floor and the walls. Also, notice the lights under the cabinets? I saw this a lot! Another interior design trend for sure!
In the basement they did a stained concrete to look like, yes, marble!
And here we have Mom again! Hi Mom!!! This basement is amazing. The marble on the walls, the marble looking floor and this bar with the most storage that I have ever seen! Again, notice the lights under the cabinets?
Storage heaven here!
This is my favorite thing about this house. I love the ceiling and the light fixtures. This main level has three of these guys, one over the family room, one in the dining area and the other in the kitchen.
This house also has almost 5,000 square feet with 4 bedrooms, 3 full and 2 half baths. It is for sale for $1,050,000.
House 3 – Arthur Rutenberg Homes
This exterior is very craftsman but my favorite feature is the way you drive under the roof in between the garage and house. So cool!
Again, this office is right off the entryway but I loved this one the most. The built-in wall is stunning with the display space and storage. Perfect for an office.
This is just a powder room but I wanted to show that a small room doesn’t have to have no wow factor. The board and batten in here makes this small room very special.
A view of the dining and family room. This seems to be an interior design trend, having the open spaces with the kitchen, dining and family rooms altogether. On another note, look at that herringbone rug, it’s actually cowhide! I really need that rug!
This right here is the laundry room of my dreams! It’s as big as my master bedroom!!!!
And this bathroom is perfect. I will admit, I didn’t see many built in vanities in the bathrooms.
Cool way to do tile, using the same tiles but in different colors that complement each other. Brilliant interior design here.
I have never seen Arthur Rutenberg homes on the Parade before but they did not disappoint. This home is just over 5,000 square feet with 4 bedrooms and 5 full, 1 half baths. You can purchase this beauty for $1,224,900.
House 4 – Pillar Homes
This house has one of my favorite exteriors. In fact my Mom didn’t like it at first sight but as we looked at other homes she said she changed her mind, and it was her favorite too!
The only thing I didn’t like about this home is it didn’t have an entyway. You walk in and here is the view. I personally like an entryway.
But when you look left you see these amazing floors! Herringbone wood floors 😍
And then you look up and see these amazing beams! It reminds me of the church I got married in.
And then upstairs in the hallway, the ceilings look like this…..😍.
And in the basement is this amazing wine room. I also love the table, that was one big tree! and the live edge bar is also soooo cool!
Outside is this swing! I love swings.
Now the other side of the house, I love the dark siding against the red brick. Very cool exterior design here!
This home has 5,667 square feet. It boasts 5 bedrooms, 4 full and 1 half bath. You can purchase it for $1,125,000.
House 5 – Memmer Homes
This was my favorite home on the tour. I felt like it was built just for me! I love the cozy yet sophisticated feel it has. And the exterior isn’t hard on the eyes either!
This wall is covered in grass cloth. I personally LOVE grasscloth! And we also have another office off the entry!
This master is so calming. I lvoe the wall treatment and the windows just dray your eye to the outside.
The master bath has this amazing wood and white combo that is done to perfection. Look at all that storage too!
Walking into the family room you have this view. 😍 This family room beckons me to sit. And the kitchen isn’t huge but it’s just the right size. And then you look to the right and you see this 👇.
🙌 This dining room is gorgeous! I love the table and the captains chairs. The window seat is perfection too. I love this house!
This barn door is huge and leads into the laundry room, below. I also like the green cabinets in the laundry room with a penny tile floor.
This is in the basement, I love this kind of bar. It doesn’t take up that much floor space but has everything you need to make the perfect drink.
Oh look, there’s Mom again! In the Jack and Jill bath, which every…single….house had. #interiordesigntrend
This is the basement family room and check out the kids playhouse in the back! LOVE IT!
This house has just over 5,000 square feet and boasts 5 bedrooms, 4 full and 1 half bath. It is on the market for $1,024,000. And did I mention it’s my favorite house on the tour? Anyone want to give me a million dollars so I can buy it??? lol
House 6 – Coppertree Homes
The Christmas House!!! I love that Coppertree always does a Christmas themed home. This years was a little low key on the Christmas decor but the house itself is just stunning!
Can you just see your daughter coming down the staircase in her prom dress or wedding dress?
This bar area is on the main level and it was by farm Mom’s favorite. In fact I think she liked this house the best of all of them. The entry got her big time.
This wood wall is gorgeous! What a contrast to the rest of the room. And the woven baskets on the wall they did a lot. I really like that.
Three Christmas trees! Yes, count me in. Now how do I talk my husband into that?
Mom’s favorite bathtub. So very feminine. I also love the tile in the herringbone pattern. I love herringbone!
CLOSET….OF….MY…..DREAMS! and it has the hidden area in the back, they staged it as hiding the kids Christmas presents in there.
My favorite nursery, love the teepee!
I love this bathroom, this is by far the most beautiful sink I have ever seen!
If my girls were younger they would want their rooms to be decorated just like this. So pretty and feminine!
This master has a yoga retreat off it. This would also be great as a closet, dressing room or office. Maybe even a nursery!
The Coppertree home is 6,495 square feet, by far the biggest on the tour. it has 5 bedrooms, 4 full and 1 half bathroom. It is for sale for $1.3mm.
House 7 – Bob Webb Homes
Bob Webb never disappoints. They have the best exterior by far!
Okay, how in the world do you intall brick pavers to the ceiling?!
Again, another stunning ceiling but this time in the kitchen.
I love this family room. I love the builtins on either side of the fireplace. It’s like taking an interior design trend from the early 1900’s and bringing it back but in an updated way!
This is the closet of dreams too! I lvoe how feminine it is. The lighting in here is amazing!
Stunning wall tile behind the bathtub that they use in the shower as well.
Master bedroom, love the beams and the fireplace. The light fixture is amazing too. Lighting can make or break a room.
This is genius, and the design of it, shaped like a wine bottle in the bar of the basement.
My daughter and husband would love this workout space.
Basement bathrooms are not just a dark space to do your business. Love the stacked stone and the shower door.
This is one of the many little kid nooks on the Parade that was built into a space under the stairs.
I love this guest room because of the interior design. It reminds me of Candace Olson, if you don’t know who that is she is a designer from HGTV. Oldie but a goodie…not that she is old. It’s just an old show, LOL.
This home is the most expensive at $1,490,000. It has 6,000 square feet with 7 bedrooms, 6 full and 1 half bath.
I hope you have found some amazing design inspiration today. I know there were a lot, I left a lot out, seriously!
