Hello and welcome to the Merry and Bright Home Tour! I have teamed up with some amazing women to showcase our Christmas decorations in our homes this year. I am sure you can get some great ideas on how to decorate for Christmas in your home! You can find the other bloggers at the end of this post. Let’s get started!
Entryway
First you will notice as you go through my home that I have a thing for Santa’s. They are in just about every room and our Entryway is no different. I moved my potted palm to the floor (it’s kind of getting too big for that shelf anyway) and in its place put this Santa to welcome my guests. I
n the Harry and David box, I put a scrap of fabric to add a little more color to the console table. And on the doorknob, I have a little jingle bell decoration which always alerts us whenever anyone opens the front door.
Family Room
Moving into the heart of my home, the family room. You can see the complete view of my Rustic Christmas Family room on the Holiday tour I did last week where I just showcased the one room. At the time I didn’t have my tree up yet so I will focus on that now and just highlight some of the other decor in the room.
Breakfast Room
In my breakfast nook, you will see I have a snowman that lights up in the corner, we have named him Frosty (appropriate right!). On my coffee bar, I put all of my new Rae Dunn Christmas mugs. I will admit, I am becoming addicted to these! Thanks to Instagram for that LOL.
I also placed the Irish plate here that I got at the annual Dublin Irish Festival, best weekend of the year for me! And all these candles were passed down from my Mother in Law. She had so many from when my husband was a baby and some were even from her mother. Some of them even have price tags on the bottom….like 15 cents!!!! What!!! I just love them and wanted them to be a part of everyday life for us.
For the tutorial on how to make industrial shelves like these go here. And for this cute farmhouse sign check out my friend Kari’s Etsy site at The Farmhouse Addict. You can find this exact sign here.

Powder Room
In my powder room, I removed the beachy theme and went full holiday/Santa! 😍 My gold Santa fits in nicely with the white cabinet and wainscoting. I just love these boxes and my other figurines fit in the nicely. The Happy Holidays sign I just picked up at Hobby Lobby, everything was 50% off and this guy was only like $6! Such a steal!
Kids space
In my kids family room downstairs I have added a few touches. I turned one of the shelves into the reindeer shelf, in front of the Harry Potter books I placed, yes another Santa! Haha, I told you, I have a thing for Santa’s! Over on top of my (very) old turntable I put this cute snowman and candle.
No matter what I did I couldn’t get my reflection out of this reindeer picture!
I have a few more things I would like to add, some crafts to do but as a whole, my house is pretty much done! Hopefully you were able to grab some ideas on how to decorate your home for Christmas this year. Thank you so much for coming along for the ride and please head on over to my friend Melissa’s website over at Brown Dog Vintage to see her amazing home.
