Gorgeous Screened In Porch Decorating Ideas

Sharing is caring!

Screened in porches have a huge appeal. Today I am sharing some gorgeous screened in porch decorating ideas to make your outdoor space feel like another room in your home.

Screened in porches are great because they protect you from the elements and keep your space bug free. If you are anything like me the bugs just love you. Screened in porches create a space where you can enjoy the outdoors without getting eaten alive!

When thinking about decorating your screened in porch there are several things you want to keep in mind.

How will you be using the space?

First, you need to consider how you will be using the space. If it’s large then you might want to create different zones.

Consider creating an outdoor dining room where you can eat without having to swat away flies!

Have a lounge zone with a couch or a hammock where you can curl up with a book or take a nap.

If you have kids then you might want to create a space where they can safely play. The possibilities are endless with your porch!

Choosing Furniture

Choosing furniture for your screened in porch can go in many directions.

DIY Furniture

One idea for your porch is to build your own furniture. Or you can take a piece of furniture and refresh it, make it new.

I did this with a patio table that flipped over in a wind storm and the glass shattered. I took scrap wood and created a new tabletop!

Outdoor Furniture

You can purchase outdoor furniture for your screened in porch. This is great because in a rain storm sometimes a bit of rain can come in and outdoor furniture is built to handle the elements.

Use Indoor Furniture Outside

You can also use indoor furniture outside and this is great because it makes the screened in porch really feel like an extension to your home.

Because it’s not made to handle the elements you might want to have furniture covers to protect it when you aren’t using them.

Consider Your Flooring

The flooring of your screened in porch can really elevate the space. The options for outdoor spaces are more limited than indoor ones. Even so, there are some really great things you can do with the flooring.

Consider painting your floors. You can do a unique stencil like my friend Carrie over at Lovely Etc.
