Bathroom Accent Wall Ideas
Today I am sharing 11 different accent wall ideas with you to spruce up your space as well as one very special bonus idea!
Are you ready to create a gorgeous bathroom? Le’ts do it!
1. Paint
You can paint one wall a contrasting color from the rest of the room or you can do something like the photo below. It’s called color blocking where you paint a wall two different colors using a geometric shape.
The key here is to make sure you use contrasting colors.
2. Box Molding
Box molding is a form of board and batten. I personally did this on my stairwell walls but it also looks amazing in the bathroom.
This method really accents the height of the ceilings and I love the stunning chandelier they put in front of it.
Again you will notice they painted the box molding walla contrasting color from the rest of the room.
3. Vertical Shiplap
Shiplap has been around forever but using it in a vertical way is a modern take on the traditional element. I love it when the vertical shiplap is painted a dark color! It makes the space instantly more luxurious.

4. Board and Batten
Board and batten is a timeless design element and using it in the bathroom is a fabulous idea. You can personalize the bathroom by painting it a fun color or make it blend more by painting it the same color as the walls.
5. Decorative Wood Design
Using wood on the walls is a pretty traditional design element except when you create your own design! You can make it fun and modern by using a modern shape or shapes.
6. Stained Wood
Most of the time you see wood on the walls in a bathroom it is painted but as you can see stained wood gives a really stunning look to a bathroom. It warms up the space which is full of cold hard surfaces.
Would you like to save this?
7. Wallpaper
This bathroom is so pretty to me! I love the wallpaper with the navy vanity.
Wallpaper has made a huge comeback in the last decade. Peel and stick is super popular because you can change it out a whole lot easier than the pasted kind.
I love how whimsical this paper is. I have seen some gorgeous floral options and fun geometric as well.
8. Shiplap
Fixer Upper put shiplap back on the map! It’s a really clean crisp look and adds just the right amount of personality without taking over the show.
9. Exposed Brick
You can expose exterior brick or brick from a chimney and it is gorgeous! If you don’t have that you can get faux brick from the hardware store, install it, and then you can do what you want with it. You can paint it or distress it. The possibilities are endless.
10. Natural Stone
Natural Stone is a lot like the exposed brick. It really adds a touch of nature and earthiness to your bathroom.

11. Stencil
What is in between paint and wallpaper? Stencils! Stencils are great because they are inexpensive like paint is but you can have a fun pattern like wallpaper!
Bonus: Mix and Match
What is better than all the ones we have mentioned so far? Using more than one of them!
For example, below you will see board and batten on the bottom half of the wall and wallpaper on the top. You could do shiplap on the bottom and stenciling on the top. The possibilities are endless.
