Fall Simmer Pot
A fall simmer pot is a natural way to bring in the scents of fall to your home using common kitchen ingredients. It’s also called a stovepot potpourri.
This fall simmer pot recipe uses common kitchen ingredients and will bring the cozy feel of fall throughout your whole home. No candle can do that!
Gather your ingredients.
You only need six ingredients:
- 1 orange
- 1 apple
- 1 lemon
- 5 cinnamon sticks
- 1 Tbsp nutmeg
- 1 Tbsp ginger
Many times you already have these items on hand. If not, they are easily attainable, nothing weird, and all things your family will enjoy.

Core your apple then slice it along with the orange and lemon. Each slice should be about a quarter of an inch in width.

Add your ingredients to a pot.
Get the biggest pot you have and put it on the stove. Add all of your ingredients.

Now fill the pot with water. Bring it to a boil and stir so the nutmeg and ginger dissolve. Then lower to a simmer.

Let this simmer all day. When the water gets low just add more water to keep it going as long as you want.

This wonderful simmer pot will fill your entire home with the most amazing smell. It’s also all natural, with no chemicals that can harm your health.
I am not kidding, my daughter was in heaven all day while I made this. I will definitely be making it again!
