Really thick garland with twinkling lights is the way to go. I mean, use two or three garlands to make it really think and statement making. The lights adds an element of whimsy.
Using velvet bows at the ends of the garland adds the perfect touch especially if they are in the traditional color palette.
I love the stockings in the tartan plaid too hung on the mantel above.
Set the scene on the dining table
Start setting your table by using some tartan plaid. You can do this with a table cloth, runner, dishes or napkins.
Use gorgeous chargers on the table under your plates. They act like a frame to your dishes. Stacking plates also adds sophistication.
