How to Make Pinecone Gnome Ornaments

Here are all the supplies you need for this project.

  • Felt
  • Pinecones – I just gathered some from my neighborhood but if you can’t then I linked some you can order from Amazon.
  • Wood Beads – I bought these and this is my second project using them. They are good for so many different craft projects!
  • Pom Poms – I grabbed these from Target, super cheap and I did curbside pickup! So easy!!
  • Ribbon
  • Sharpie marker
  • bowl
  • scissors
  • glue gun – This is a kit that comes with Glue sticks and a handy case to keep it all organized.

Step 1 – Cut the Felt

The first thing you will do is put a bowl on the edge of the felt and using the sharpie mark the curve around the bowl.

This shows the bowl and making the sharpie mark on the green felt to create the gnomes hat.

Once you have done that cut out where you marked.

Step 2 – Make the gnome’s hat.

Fold the felt so it makes a cone shape and hot glue the two edges together.

This shows the felt cut out and glued into a cone shape.

Now hot glue the cone to the top of the pinecone by putting glue around the bottom edge of the cone and placing it on the pinecone. Press down the outside to make sure it is securely glued to the pinecone.

Here is the green felt cone glued to the pinecone.

Step 3 – Finishing touchs

For the final touches, hot glue the bead to the base of the felt where it meets the pinecone to create a nose. Then hot glue the pom-pom to the top of the hat. Lastly, hot glue a 3-inch piece of ribbon to the back of the hat so you can hang it on the tree.

Here the nose, pom pom top and ribbon to hang the ornamament have been added.

Step 4 – Add your pinecone gnome ornament to the tree!

Here is the finished product! I love how easy this was. And you can see I made two of there, just used different shaped pinecones and different color felt.
