Embrace the 2025 Summer Home Decor Trends in Color

Earthy Tones with a Twist

Nothing is better than decorating with the colors of nature. I love using them in the summer. You can do lots of different things, go complete earth tones in a neutral fashion, or add pops of color as the summer flowers add to our gardens.

These first two examples are perfect for a neutral vibe. They also add lots of neutral textures which gives the room lots of coziness.

Pastel Blues and Sunny Yellows

I love adding pastel blues to my home, especially in the summer. The photo below is gorgeous with it’s pastels and beiges with white. Also the bowl on the table is a little darker blue but gives the feel of the depths of the ocean.

Lightweight Fabrics and Breezy Textures for Summer

Linen and Cotton Decor Staples

Linen is a popular fabric for summer, especially in fashion. Using linen and cotton in pillows and drapes will give the perfect texture for summer.

Gauzy Curtains for Natural Light

I don’t get a lot of light in my home so I use these gauzy window treatments so we get the privacy at night but still the sunlight in the day.

Indoor-Outdoor Living Spaces

In the summer indoor-outdoor living is essential. Here we have examples of what you can do to add gorgeous decor to your summer outdoor spaces.

Summer Patio Makeover Ideas

It doesn’t matter how small or large your patio is you can make it perfect for your summer living. Adding lots of plants, potten flowers, white accents as well as galvanized metal are great and will withstand the elements.

Outdoor Rugs and Weather-Resistant Textiles

Sunbrella fabrics are great for the outdoors because they are weather-resistant. Using an indoor-outdoor rug is also fabulous because it makes your seating area feel like an indoor room, but it withstands the elements outside.

Seasonal Tablescapes and Entertaining Touches

We do a ton of entertaining in the summer and centerpieces are very important. I am sharing some of my favorite tablescapes and dining tips for a very memorable party!

Summer Tablescapes

I have a post all about 10 different types of summer tablescapes but here are two of my favs.

Al Fresco Dining Decor Tips

Al Fresco Dining basically means “eating outside”. It’s derived from an Italian phrase that means “in the fresh air”. It’s a wonderful way to spend a quiet evening, have family or friends over, or a romantic dinner.

Two things to consider before hosting an Al Fresco dining are to make sure you plan ahead and check the weather. Nothing can ruin a dinner outside than a thunderstorm! And planning will really help you reduce the stress associated with hosting.

First thing you do is choose your dining space, then plan your menu. Make sure you plan your menu according to your location. For example, a picnic is probably not the best place for a spaghetti dish.

Next, set your table and add a gorgeous centerpiece. I love using linen napkins in the summer, it’s such a popular fabric for this time of year.

Add some mood lighting such as string lights, candles, or small lamps. Then use a creative space as a bar cart so it’s easy for you and your guests to access whatever they are drinking.

And lastly, add music! I love using a wireless speaker connected to your phone so you can easily adjust the playlist.

Bright Table Linens and Dinnerware

If you think doing a neutral thing is boring, then go bold! Here are two examples of bright table linens and dinnerware…tablescapes, that will make you really happy!

Final Touches for a Summer Vibe

There are a few other things I love to incorporate for a great summer vibe.

First, I love to add scented candles and diffusers to bring certain scents into a room that evoke a feeling. For example, I love a beach scented candle to make me feel like I am at the beach!

Another great addition to your home for summer is summer-inspired wall art. These are great inside but also perfect for the outdoor spaces!

And lastly, music and lighting are essential for creating the perfect mood!
