2026 Paint Colors of the Year

I think one thing you are going to notice is that this year’s colors aren’t all that neutral. They are mostly bold and full of saturated color!

I find that very interesting. It shows a real shift in the trend of light and airy to dark and saturated. And to be honest, I am here for it!

Let’s get into it!

Sherwin Williams Universal Khaki

Universal Khaki is a warm and neutral mid-toned color with green and yellow undertones. It’s considered a modern neutral and will give your home a timeless look.

Sherwin Williams says it’s “earthy and timeless”. It would look amazing paired with a white to make the depth of color pop or with darker colors.

Benjamin Moore Silhouette

Silhouette is a very elegant color. It has an LRV of 10.18 making it a dark color, which you can obviously tell by looking at it.

This color is a blend of gray, brown, and plum which means it will look different in different lights. Make sure you test this on your wall and live with it for a few days before making the decision to paint a room.

What I love about this color is it’s warmth and the cozy feeling it will create in your space.

Behr Hidden Gem

This gorgeous jewel tone adds so much sophistication and depth to your home. It a modern teal with gray undertones which mutes the blast of color just a touch.

This color looks amazing on cabinets or furniture but will make a statement when painted on walls.

Valspar Warm Eucalyptus

This color is also a green with gray in it but much more earthy and warm. It’s also considerable lighter than Behr’s Hidden Gem.

This color would be amazing on furniture and cabinets but also on walls. I really think this color would pair well with other warm greiges, warm whites and darker colors.

How to know if a paint color is right for you?

The best way to judge if a color is good for you then you will want to put a swatch on the wall and look at it over a few days. Look at it in different lights and decide if you really like it.

You can do this by getting a sample from the paint store and using a brush to put it up on the walls, but then you are left with a can that you can’t do anything with. Those samples are used with poor-quality paint and aren’t meant for use on your walls permanently.

I recommend going with Samplize. They are a company that will send you a 12X12 peel-and-stick swatch of a paint color that you can stick to the wall. When you are done just peel it off and throw it away.

It’s easy and much less messy!

Warm Mahogany is a bold, rich red with brown undertones. It has a very earthy feel and will really make quite a statement in your home.

This color might be too much for a whole room but would be great for an accent wall, furntiure, cabinets, and a front door.

Dutch Boy Melodious Ivory

Melodius Ivory is a warm and creamy neutral which gives it a simple and cozy feel. This color really gives the feeling of calm.

It has a tad of peach in it’s profile so if you arent a fan of peach you might want to stay away from this color. I think it would be amazing in any room of your home or as a whole home color palette for an open floor plan.

Farrow & Ball Naperon

Naperon is a terra cotta color that has peach undertones. It gives the feel of having baked in the sun. It’s earthy and warm.

I would use this color in any room of the home. I also think it would be amazing on the exterior as a siding color or for the front door.

Yes spray paints do a color of the year too! Krylon is the most widely available spray paint on the market. You can find it almost anywhere. Their color this year is Coffee Bean.

Coffee Bean is a gorgeous dark brown, almost black. It’s very sophisticated and will look amazing no matter where you use it.
