Sherwin Williams Oyster White
Finding the perfect white paint can feel overwhelming, but Sherwin-Williams Oyster White continues to stand out as one of the most versatile warm neutrals for modern homes. With its soft, beige undertones and cozy, inviting feel, Sherwin Williams Oyster White works beautifully in everything from bright coastal interiors to modern farmhouse spaces.
Whether you’re refreshing a living room, updating kitchen cabinets, or searching for the perfect whole-house paint color, this timeless shade offers the ideal balance of warmth and sophistication without feeling too yellow or stark.
What are the undertones of Sherwin Williams Oyster White?
Oyster White is really a very light beige/creamy white. It has green undertones, making it a really warm color.
This color, in warm light, shows very warm and can sometimes even show a little bit yellow.
What is Oyster White’s LRV?
LRV stands for light reflective value, and it’s a scale that measures the amount of light a paint color reflects. Why is this important? It helps the homeowner choose the right paint color for their space.
The scale runs from 0-100, with 100 being the brightest white and 0 being the darkest black.
Oyster White sits at 72, making it a pretty bright paint color. I would say that bright colors start around 60/65 and I have seen colors go into the 90’s. Oyster White is bright, but not the brightest white there is.

How to know if a paint color is right for you?
The best way to judge if a color is good for you is to put a swatch on the wall and look at it over a few days. Look at it in different lights and decide if you really like it.
You can do this by getting a sample from the paint store and using a brush to put it up on the walls, but then you are left with a can that you can’t do anything with. Those samples are used with poor-quality paint and aren’t meant for use on your walls permanently.
I recommend going with Samplize. They are a company that will send you a 12X12 peel-and-stick swatch of a paint color that you can stick to the wall. When you are done, just peel it off and throw it away.
It’s easy and much less messy!

What are the best coordinating colors?
Warm grays that are in the same LRV range look good with Oyster White. It also looks really good with warm, darker beiges.
I also think Oyster White looks great with greens and blues. The contrast is simply stunning!

Does Oyster White look good on the exterior?
No matter what color you use on the exterior, it’s going to look much lighter than the same color on the interior of the home.
Oyster White is a bright paint color, but it has just enough depth that on the exterior, it looks great! It doesn’t look washed out as other “white” colors can.
It also pairs really well with brick colors and warm stone colors.
Does Oyster White look good on cabinets?
Oyster White looks great on kitchen cabinets. If you want light cabinets but don’t want to go white, then this is a fantastic color to choose.
Here is an example of Oyster White on cabinets. I love the way it looks with the cool marble counters and crisp white farmhouse sink.
