Hello and welcome to my home! I am sharing my Christmas home tour 2023 with you today.
I like to spread little doses of Christmas into every room of my home. That way no matter where I am I feel the festive spirit.
Last year I shared my basement family room where I went to town on holiday decor. I did a lot of things the same in that room but you will notice one big difference, no more couch.
My daughter recently moved out and took the IKEA sofa with her so I moved my desk center and an kind of loving the feel of the room. It’s all my office now!
Christmas Home Tour 2023
Let’s get started!
The Entryway

Outside that window is my front porch. The Santa sits on top of my laundry room closet. Believe it or not there is an outlet up there so we are able to light up that Christmas tree with the flip of a switch!

I added garland and ribbon to the railing of the steps and a small Buckeye Christmas wreath just above the beadboard wall.

This sign is actually reversible. On the other side it says it’s so nice to be home.
This room is great for plants because of the skylights. I also love my little advent calendar in the shape of a house.
Believe it or not, I found that at Kroger! I did create some DIY advent calendars last year and gave them as gifts. This one was my inspiration.
Powder Room

This space is small and has no windows so isn’t the best to photograph. I did a makeover in this space after an issue with the toilet shut-off valve leaking.
This is my modern coastal powder room that has a lot of blue grays going on. I found this artwork that looks great in here and adds the perfect touch of Christmas to the room.
I also bought this candle from Bath and Body Works. It’s called Winter and not only does it look good in this room it smells AMAZING!
Christmas Home Tour 2023 – The Family Room
This is the room we spend most of our time in. I wanted to do something different on the mantel and I swear I changed it a zillion times. My husband finally said don’t ask me anymore if it looks good, lol.

You will see I have this garland that lights up. I love Santas so I put a couple of my favorites up here with three candles on each side.

When we moved in we had this ugly 80s ceiling fan in here (with no light on it). I replaced it with this gorgeous wagon wheel chandelier and love adding a bit of garland to it every year.

This is our family Christmas tree. It has all the ornaments my kids made through the years, the fun ones grandparents got them. I love this tree and I love looking at others family tree. It tells the story of their family.
I am not super happy with our tree this year. The bottom foot of lights won’t light up and we need a new tree topper. Hubby and I decided to live with it this year and then we will toss it after the holidays are over.
Next year we will get a new one that is taller since we have tall ceilings. If you have one you love let me know where you got it!

Here is the view of my family room into he breakfast nook. I have Christmas throw pillows everywhere. I only keep two on the couch because my husband hates them and just puts them on the floor anyway. So I keep it minimal.
Also this throw blanket is perfect for cool nights, I always keep lots of blankets handy. That dresser between the rooms holds tons of extra blankets.
Also on the dresser is our nativity scene. We don’t put the baby Jesus in until Christmas morning since that’s when he was born.
Breakfast Nook and Kitchen

This wooden tree was handed down to us from my husbands parents and it’s one of my favorite things ever!
I also added this red felt wreath which I actually created for valentines day but totally works for Christmas too.
My Christmas Rae Dunn mugs grace the first shelf. The ho ho ho mug my husband calls my ho mug since it doesn’t have all three words together. He cracks himself up so much! 😉

I didn’t do a ton in the kitchen this year, I am sort of a minimalist in my kitchen. I like to keep the counters pretty clear.
So I just added wreaths on the windows, a tiered tray with antique candles in the corner and a Merry Christmas sign over the stove top.
Also, if you don’t have an Alexa Echo Show in your kitchen you are missing out! You can pull up recipes and ask her questions. It’s great!

The Dining Room

This is probably my favorite room in the house. I did the board and batten then added the color above (Studio Blue Green by Sherwin Williams).
The table I recently refinished to this darker color to coordinate better with the buffet. Then I got these chairs from facebook marketplace for $40! I took off the purple pleather, refinished the wood and recovered in this cream fabric. I love it!

In the center of the table, I have faux poinsettia leaves in a white pitcher and coordinated with a white cake plate, greenery, and candle. I also love this Magnolia table runner in green plaid.

On the other side of the pitcher is a tiered tray with some yummy cookies I have made. I bake a ton of cookies at this time of year.

In the corner by the windows is my slim (pretty) Christmas tree. I decorate this on in red and silver/white. It’s perfect in this corner of the room.
Next to the tree is my Christmas cactus. It’s actually a Thanksgiving cactus, it already bloomed. This plant came from my Grandmother and she always called it a Christmas cactus so that’s what we call it.

I kept the buffet simple so I can add food later on. I put a garland, a hanging kissing bow and red and silver reindeer.

On the other side of the room is our piano. I put the reversible fall/Christmas sign here flanked by cute little pine trees. I have my flute handy for playing some holiday tunes.
The Basement Family Room

This is a view of my basement family room. With the couch gone it looks a little funny down here.
This room has gone through so many changes since we moved in. Here are the things I have done:
- Stained the concrete
- DIY the built-ins
- Created a wood wall
- Painted the space Benjamin Moore Classic Gray
That’s a lot right!

My desk sits center now and I have added a couple Christmas touches here. I have a DIY felt Christmas tree and a pillow on the chair that says Joy.

On the other side of my desk is this small vignette of my DIY flocked Christmas tree, a Santa, and my kid’s elves in a child rocking chair.
That rocking chair was my mother’s when she was little.

Here are the built-ins where I added lots of snowglobes, candles, Christmas trees, and my husband’s Marine nutcracker.
I hope you are inspired to try some new things this Christmas! Happy Holidays!
